Don’t be robbed by your choices

It is a blessing to have choices, but having too many can sometimes be unhealthy. It can causes us to become complacent with our decision making and actions, and ultimately our choices can then lead to procrastination. We all know procrastination unchecked robs us of achieving our goals.

Continuing the theme of gratitude; recently I have been feeling somewhat suffocated, living in a 2 bed flat with my husband and 2 overly active kids. This feeling has led me to essentially blame my lack of productivity in certain areas on my lack of space. My everyday mantra became “there is just no space to do what I want”

Fast forward to last night, my little one lying at a weird angle in the middle of my bed, and my mood turns to the no space mantra.

My mind then swiftly shifts to a family living in the poorest of situation, where one room is there home. With my eyes closed, I tried to envisage which room in my house would be a true representation of their home. I pictured each corner of the their home and I think of all I have to be grateful for.

I have a home that is not just a room and I have a beautiful family that makes way for me. I have a choice about what room in my home I can occupy at any time. Space is a factor, it is not an hindrance to me being productive, unless I chose it to be. As I reflected on this, I know I am not alone when it comes to using the choices I have, to be the best I can be without excuses.

So if you identity, how about doing your own reflection. How are you letting your choices, drive the decision and actions you take.

If you shifted your mindset and committed to choices that drive positive action, what achievement could you be celebrating? It may all seem overwhelming, but in most cases, even then it is a choice to look past the fear and make the ultimate choice and jump in
